A Mid-Year Charge for Autism Families Walking With God
There are seasons when God whispers, “Rest.”
And then, there are seasons when He says, “Accelerate.”
Acceleration is not rushing.
Acceleration is not striving.
Acceleration is moving in rhythm with God — trusting that when He says go, grace will carry us.
This month at COAAM, we’re stepping boldly into acceleration — for our children, our families, and ourselves. Not by power, not by might, but by His Spirit. (Zechariah 4:6)
Because even when growth feels slow…
Even when development doesn’t look like everyone else’s…
Even when prayers seem to sit in silence…
God is still moving.
And He invites us to move with Him.
Accelerate in Faith
Faith isn’t passive. Faith is action soaked in trust.
Some of the biggest breakthroughs in our children’s lives have come after seasons of tears, waiting, and quiet obedience.
Faith is:
✅ Praying the same prayer again
✅ Speaking life when progress seems invisible
✅ Celebrating tiny wins that heaven sees as big
✅ Trusting His timing — because delay is not denial
At COAAM, we have seen God’s hand — in language breakthroughs, social growth, independence milestones, calm replacing chaos, and joy replacing fear.
This month, we say —
Lord, as we trust You, accelerate us.
Accelerate in Friendship & Social Connection
Children grow in connection.
They learn love by being loved.
They discover friendship by being invited — patiently, gently, consistently.
And so this month, we are helping our children practice:
🤝 Turn-taking
💬 Expressing needs
🧠 Emotional regulation
👀 Understanding social cues
🫂 Building real, meaningful friendships
Every play moment… every shared toy… every gentle “your turn”…
It’s not small. It’s seed-planting.
And in due time, seeds bloom.
At the scent of water, the tree will bud again. (Job 14:9)
Accelerate in Function
Function is dignity.
It is independence.
It is confidence rising step by step.
Whether it’s:
🔥 Preparing snacks
🧼 Doing self-care routines
🧠 Solving puzzles or reading
🎒 Packing their bag
👕 Getting dressed
🗣️ Using words, gestures, or AAC
📖 Learning God’s Word
Every skill learned is a testimony in motion.
We do our part, and God meets us there — multiplying the work of our hands and hearts.
A Call to Parents
Acceleration begins with intention.
This month, we challenge each other to grow — not in overwhelm, but in grace.
Ask yourself:
🌱 What is one way I can help my child connect this week?
🌱 What is one skill we can nurture one step at a time?
🌱 Where is God nudging me to trust Him deeper?
You don’t need to do everything.
Just do the thing He is placing in front of you — and watch Him breathe on it.
Together We Can — and together, we will.
A Prayer for This Season
Father,
Accelerate us gently, gracefully, in Your divine timing.
Strengthen our hands, soften our hearts, and steady our steps.
Let our children flourish — socially, emotionally, academically, spiritually.
Let breakthroughs become normal in this community.
And let every story point back to You.
Amen. 💛
Final Word
We don’t run alone.
We run with God, with purpose, and with each other.
This month, we accelerate —
In faith. In friendship. In function.
And while we accelerate… we remember:
✨ Progress is not always loud.
✨ God’s silence is not His absence.
✨ Our children are rising — and so are we.
Let’s move. Let’s grow.
Let’s accelerate — together.
